Return Policy

Garrard & Flack Australia wants every customer to feel confident when purchasing cricket bats and cricket gear online. This return policy explains how returns, warranty claims and manufacturing faults are handled.

If you have any concerns about your order, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear details of the issue.

Returns and warranty, explained simply

Our warranty is designed to cover genuine manufacturing faults. It does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, insufficient preparation, mistimed shots or damage caused by use against unsuitable balls.

This policy does not exclude any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

To lodge a claim, please contact us with your order details, clear photos of the issue and a brief explanation of how the damage occurred.

Returns

If you would like to request a return, please contact us first so we can review your order and advise the next steps.

Items must generally be unused, in their original condition and returned with any original packaging, tags or accessories where applicable.

Custom-made or personalised products may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns unless there is a manufacturing fault or another issue covered under Australian Consumer Law.

Cricket Bat Warranty

Garrard & Flack cricket bats are covered against manufacturing faults for 12 months from the date of purchase.

This warranty applies to genuine manufacturing faults only. Cricket bats are made from natural English willow and are designed to strike a hard leather cricket ball, so normal signs of use are expected over time.

What Is Covered?

The warranty may cover genuine manufacturing faults that occur under normal and appropriate use.

If you believe your bat has a manufacturing fault, please contact us with:

  • Your order number
  • The date of purchase
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the bat, including the face, edges, toe and affected area

We will review the information provided and advise the next steps.

What Is Not Covered?

The cricket bat warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse or insufficient preparation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Normal surface cracks, seam marks or indentations from regular use
  • Damage caused by insufficient knocking in
  • Damage caused by using the bat before it has been properly prepared
  • Damage caused by mistimed shots, yorkers or balls striking the toe or edge
  • Damage caused by tapping, misuse or inappropriate use
  • Moisture damage or use in wet conditions
  • Damage caused by storing the bat in damp, hot or unsuitable conditions
  • General wear and tear from training, nets or match play
  • Cosmetic damage that does not affect performance

Cricket bats are natural willow products and will show signs of use over time. This does not necessarily mean the bat is faulty.

Bat Preparation and Knocking In

All Garrard & Flack cricket bats must be properly knocked in before use.

Even if a bat has been oiled, pressed or fitted with a protective sheet, it still needs careful preparation before facing a hard cricket ball in training or matches.

Failure to knock in your bat correctly may affect your warranty if the damage is caused by insufficient preparation rather than a manufacturing fault.

Please read our Bat Care Guide before using your bat.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, please contact us with your order details and clear photos of the issue.

We may ask for additional information so we can properly assess the bat or product.

Depending on the issue, we may offer a repair, replacement, refund or another suitable remedy where appropriate.

Please do not return any product before contacting us and receiving return instructions.

Other Cricket Gear

For batting gloves, batting pads, wicket keeping gear, luggage and other cricket equipment, please contact us if you believe the item is faulty or incorrect.

Items must generally be unused and in original condition for change-of-mind return requests.

Products damaged through normal use, misuse, incorrect sizing, wear and tear or improper care may not be eligible for return.

Incorrect or Damaged Orders

If you receive an incorrect item, or if your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos.

We will review the issue and help resolve it where possible.

Australian Consumer Law

This policy does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a remedy where a product has a major failure or does not meet a consumer guarantee under Australian Consumer Law.
